We at RHA Central understand that, for some, spirituality can play an important role in the provision of health care. Accordingly, we have in place a Spiritual Care Advisory Committee (SCAC) whose mandate is to develop recommendations, based on the Strategic Plan, for the setting of spiritual care priorities and resource co-ordination in Central Region.
The SCAC will aim at integrating spirituality into the health care system through the development of consistent standards, by recommending educational options such as the Clinical Pastoral Education Program (see below) and by seeking to maintain a highly professional level of spiritual care in the institutions. The SCAC will act in an advisory capacity to encourage caregivers to participate in the development of recommendations for comprehensive and cost-effective spiritual care in a health service environment.
